WELCOME 2025!

I hope your new year is starting off peacefully and happily.

My mission is to help you make wellness part of your every day, and January is a time when many people feel especially motivated to initiate new

routines and renew their commitment to prioritizing their well-being. To say I am dedicated to supporting you at the start of this new year would be minimizing it.

Tomorrow is January 6, and I remember all too well where I was on that day just a few years ago when our country was rocked by an unprecedented event. I was scheduled to teach yoga in a local Costa Mesa park that afternoon, and as the news began unfolding on TV I could hardly tear myself away from it, because it was so incomprehensible and honestly, terrifying. As I weighed in my mind what to do - either cancel yoga so we could all stay home and follow the news, or give people a place to find comfort and community - the answer took only a moment to become 100% clear: this is when we hold onto each other and this practice that gives us peace when we simply don’t know how or where else to find it. Some of you know my personal story - that I became a dedicated student of yoga when my own life was turned upside-down 15 years ago, and discovered I simply cannot live without these tools that bring me back to calm.

To be sure, this month will be one of many transformations and transitions. What I believe in my heart is that everything that is happening is to move us forward as a collective community, and tragically sometimes things go far off-course or are completely destroyed before being rebuilt in a better way. There are many opportunities for us to improve individually and collectively, and my hope is that we can all remain focused on what truly is best for all, on the other side of all of the noise.

I will remain grounded and steady, with a sense of ease and openness in the face of life’s unpredictable moments. My yoga practice remains my first line of solace when I feel upset or disrupted, and if you need a little of it for yourself you can follow along with me on YouTube or in person if you’re nearby. To be honest, the YouTube filming is a pain in the butt with my limited knowledge of camera angles, audio finesse and editing while juggling all of my work roles, but if you can give me your patience and a good sense of humor for the bloopers, background noises, or other imperfections as this one-woman show figures out how to do it, I’ll make it a bit better for you every day. I’ll be posting one video daily during January on the YouTube channel, available at midnight every night so it’s there for you as soon as you rise or whenever you can fit it into your day. These practices will include some yin and some yang energy, some guided meditation and some sound healing instruments, so feel free to explore them all to find what you need each day.

And now I’m off to work on my vision board for 2025 - much love until next time,

xo,
Karen
